About this map
What is counted. Every shelter bed and unit we identified in Austin, existing and planned, any operator: at sites. Supportive housing, service sites and the Austin Transitional Center are shown for context and are not counted in any figure.
Supportive housing. Buildings where supportive housing is more than half the units, from the City’s Affordable Housing Inventory (all statuses), plus Arbor Terrace (all 120 units, per the City’s Council Q&A Report, July 23, 2026, Item 66) and Community First! Village’s two campuses.
Service sites. Every one we identified; not a full census. Four are the City’s own navigation access points.
Districts and population. City of Austin council-district boundaries; population from the City’s 2026 Demographic Profiles. Per-resident figures use shelter beds only.
Locations. Pins are placed by street address and are approximate; markers at shared addresses are offset slightly so each one shows. Each pin was checked for its council district and its side of I-35. The family violence shelter is shown in its general area only.
Distances. Measured edge to edge, as the crow flies, between property lines (Travis Central Appraisal District) and City park boundaries.
Sources. Each pin and district lists its own sources, with a link wherever one is available online.
